How to install Aptoide TV on any device

The process takes about three minutes once you know where the settings are hiding. Choose your device below for the exact steps.

Every method below sideloads the same APK you'd get from our download page. None of it requires root access or voiding your device's warranty.

Fire TV Stick & Fire TV Cube

Turn on Apps from Unknown Sources

Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options → Apps from Unknown Sources → turn it on for Downloader.

Install the Downloader app

Search "Downloader" in the Amazon Appstore — it's free and made by AFTVnews.

Enter code 4277094

Open Downloader and type the code into the URL field, then select Go.

Install and launch

Tap Install on the confirmation screen, then Open once it finishes.

Android TV boxes

Allow unknown app installs

Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps → choose Downloader or your file manager.

Install Downloader from the Play Store

Or use a USB drive with a file manager if you'd rather skip an extra app.

Enter code 4277094

Same code as every other device — it fetches the current APK build.

Install and launch

Confirm the install prompt and find Aptoide TV in your app drawer.

Google TV (Chromecast & built-in Google TV)

Install Downloader first

Google TV won't show the unknown-sources toggle until an installer app is already present.

Approve the permission prompt

The first time Downloader tries to install something, Google TV asks per-app for permission — allow it.

Enter code 4277094

Enter it in Downloader exactly as you would on any other Android TV device.

Install and launch

Confirm, then open Aptoide TV from your Google TV apps row.

Generic smart TV boxes

Most budget Android-based TV boxes (running stock Android rather than the Android TV or Google TV skin) follow the same pattern as an Android TV box: enable unknown sources, sideload through Downloader or a USB drive, install, done.

Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) smart TVs can't sideload APKs at all — they don't run Android. If that's your TV, you'll need a separate Android TV box, Fire TV Stick, or Chromecast with Google TV plugged into an HDMI port to run Aptoide TV.
